Scenes From an Amazing Weekend

Saturday started with a trip to Avebury stone circle and Silbury Hill. It was absolutely FREEZING! We kept warm by playing follow-my-leader up and down the moat.

Jessie decided the stone looked like a nose. I'm not entirely sure why that meant she had to sit in the nostral.

In a bid to get a bit warmer we braved the prices in the National Trust Cafe. Chris decided to take on the awesome responsibility of seeing how many Skittles he could fit in his mouth at once.

It was only a short trip to Devizes from there. Neither of them had seen Caen Hill Locks, so it was well worth the trip. they were having so much fun running across all the bridges that they forgot to get tired.

We counted every lock. Just to be sure.

On the way home we called in on the Windmill near Great Bedwyn...

...So that I could practice using the timer on the camera.

On Sunday we ventured out to Snelsmore Common near Hungerford. In this image we were sneaking up on the enemy's tower to blow it up.

And then we were looking for a crashed helicopter! (Although we didn't find one)

If the Goarse is out, you can bet summer isn't far behind.

The loggers on the common had very kindly left us building materials, so we decided to declare our independance and build a place of our own.

Yes kids. Honest. If you rub the sticks for long enough, you'll get a campfire going...

We finished off by stalking some of the wild ponies, but we didn't catch any. Just as well really. I don't think their mum would have been pleased when we brought it back with us.

Looks like you had a great time. Good pictures. Your kids looked like they enjoyed themselves.

That's quite sinister that the previous comment is anonymous in a kind of "I'm watching you and your children..." kind of way.
